1. Experimental purpose:
Filtration is a process in which a porous material layer intercepts impurities in water to clarify the water. Common filtration methods include sand filtration, diatomaceous earth coating filtration, sintered tube microporous filtration, wire br*d filtration, etc. Filtration can not only remove fine suspended particle impurities in water, but also bacteria, viruses and organic matter will be removed as the turbidity decreases. This experiment is based on the actual structure of the filter tank, with quartz sand filter material or ceramic filter material installed inside, and tap water is used to perform clean sand layer filtration and backwashing experiments.
Through the experiment, we hope to achieve the following goals:
1. Understand the grading method of filter media;
2. Master the calculation method of head loss and the law of head loss change when filtering the clean sand layer;
3. Master the calculation method of head loss when backwashing the filter layer
