1. Experimental purpose:
The activated carbon treatment process uses adsorption to remove odors, cert*n ions, and organic pollutants that are difficult to biodegrade. In the adsorption process, the specific surface area of ​​activated carbon plays a major role. At the same time, the solubility of the adsorbed substance in the solvent also directly affects the adsorption rate. In addition, the pH level, temperature changes, and the degree of dispersion of the adsorbed substance also have a cert*n effect on the adsorption rate.
This experiment uses the intermittent and continuous adsorption method of activated carbon to determine the adsorption capacity of activated carbon for cert*n impurities cont*ned in water. It is hoped to achieve the following purposes:
1. Master the basic operation process of the adsorption experiment;
2. Deepen the understanding of the basic principles of adsorption;
3. Master the physical meaning and function of the adsorption isotherm;
4. Master the data processing method of the activated carbon adsorption experiment;
5. Understand the adsorption performance of different activated carbons and their selection methods.
