1. Experimental principle and purpose:
In the process of ABF, a tower filter is set up before the usual activated sludge process. It can be connected in series or in parallel with the aeration tank, but it is m*nly connected in series. There is a lot of activated sludge attached to the surface of the tower filter media, so the filter media is made of polypropylene balls, Ø40~Ø50, with porosity between the balls, good natural ventilation, and it is not easy to clog in the filter bed after the biofilm falls off during aging. In the project, the tower is generally 4~6m high. The design load rate of the tower is 3.2kg/m3・d, and the removal rate is about 65%. The treatment effect is poor in winter, which is related to the water temperature. The oxygen content of the tower outflow is as high as 6~8mg/L (20℃), and the oxygen demand rate of the mixed liquor is also high, which can reach about 30~300mg/L・h depending on the wastewater concentration.
The filter here uses blast aeration (surface aeration can also be used), and the tower is a strong oxygenator. Therefore, ABF can be considered as a composite activated sludge method.
The time for sewage to flow through the filter tank is less than 1 minute, but due to the presence of water attached to the filter sludge layer, the actual residence time of sewage is much longer.
Through the "ABF process" experiment, we hope to achieve the following goals:
1. Master the basic operation process of the "ABF process" of the active biological filter;
2. Deepen the understanding of the principle of the experiment;
3. Understand the process flow and technical parameters of the experiment, and improve students' theoretical and practical knowledge.

Equipped with a practice module (4 built-in multiple-choice questions, with prompts for correct and incorrect choices)
4. Design layout: There are multiple-choice questions and calculation questions, each with a score, and the correct answer and score will be displayed after submission

The equipment includes: nozzles, HFC-227 storage bottles, bottle head valves, heptafluoropropane one-way valves, high-pressure hoses, gas one-way valves, safety valves, weighing alarms, electromagnetic starters, selection valves, smoke alarms, and fire alarm controllers.
3. Principle display: It shows the working principle of the gas fire extinguishing system, with a three-dimensional animation demonstration. The three-dimensional model is semi-transparent, and the internal gas can be seen. Equipped with an exercise module (3 built-in multiple-choice questions, with prompts for correct and incorrect choices)
